Star Wars writer, director and all around Sci-Fi godfather recently sat down with Charlie Rose and spoke about the meaning behind his space opera.
No one would argue that the original Star Wars trilogy will go down as 3 of the best Sci-Fi films of all-time. But for some not many know that Star Wars borrows from historic works like Homer’s Odyssey or Akira Kurosawa’s The Hidden Fortress which Lucas expands on in the interview.
Love him or hate him, Lucas have given us 3 of the best films to every hit the silver screen and created a universe every child (or in this case adult) dreams to play in. And fortunately, Star Wars films will continue thanks in part to a partnership between LucasFilm and Walt Disney Pictures.
Star Wars: Episode VII is scheduled to open Christmas 2015.
